From Duerne, the route winds across a plateau, then descends gradually into the Orzon valley before climbing up to Pomeys and crossing a ridge. It descends at a steady gradient into the La Gimond valley and its lake, from where it climbs up to Aveize, then plunges into the Orjolle valley before returning to Duerne.
