This is a fairly long walk (12 km) which starts at the So Bèchefa clearing, the starting point for several signposted walks in the visitor centre area.
Please note that this walk is not signposted, so it’s best to bring a map or download the GPX file onto your mobile phone. It is suitable for mountain bikes, unless you wish to extend the route further by taking the circular route through the Bradfer Arboretum, where cycling is prohibited.
In Commanster, head to the right of the cemetery and pass the chestnut tree where the Urbany brothers were murdered. At the church, turn left (towards Beho), pass the Old Castle (or stop for a drink there if it’s open) and, on leaving the village, turn right, following the GR®5 for 3 km. You’ll arrive at Pré aux Tamballes, cross the ford and head straight on towards the Bèchefa visitor centre.
