Description of the walk

Departure from the small car park located on Sente des Prés opposite the town hall in Vert.

(S/E) Join Grande Rue, cross it and turn right. After about 30 metres, take a small path on the left. Cross a park on the right to reach the multi-purpose hall (source). Then go up to the left, across the meadow, to reach a path that you take on the right.

(1) At the junction with Rue de la Libération, turn right. At the next junction, turn left into Rue de la Cressonnière and then left again into Rue du Haut de Vert. Ignore the Chemin du Coteau and Chemin du Bel Air on your right.

(2) Just after this, leave the road and turn left onto a path. After passing a house on your right, go left at the T-junction further on.

(3) At the next junction, go up the hairpin bend on the left. Ignore a path on the right that does not appear on the map. However, the path that appears on the map and leads to a gas installation on the left no longer exists.

(4) Cross the D170 carefully and continue straight ahead.

(5) At the crossroads, turn right. Continue south towards the high-voltage power lines until you reach a crossroads. Continue left into the woods.

(6) At another crossroads, turn right and pass under one electricity pylon and then to the left of another. Part of the path does not appear on the map but does exist

(7) At the crossroads, first turn right then left and continue through the woods.

(8) Take a sharp left turn onto a wide path that descends. At the crossroads (white and red GR®11 marker), turn left and carefully cross the D983. Continue along Rue du Moulin, then turn right towards the church. Pass the church on your right and take Rue Saint-Martin on the right until you reach a fork, where you will turn left.

(9) Immediately afterwards, turn left again onto Chemin des Gaudines. Ignore a turn-off on the right that does not appear on the map. Take a sharp left turn onto a path that descends alongside a fence on your right and leads to Rue des Lierres.

(10) Turn right onto Chemin des Chavannes (marked in white and red), which passes near the cemetery. Ignore the side roads and continue to Vert.

(11) Turn left onto Rue du Moulin.

(12) Turn right onto Ruelle du Pont Jaffet and walk along the beautiful little path that extends from it.
When you return, continue to the church and turn left onto Grande Rue to find Sente des Prés and the car park a little further on the left (S/E).

A pleasant route, mostly through woodland, passing through typical villages and stopping at the Villette fish farm, where you can buy smoked trout for lunch.
