Description of the walk

Parking available at Henvic church square.

(S/E) Leave the car park and turn left onto Rue du Croissant. Continue to the crossroads with Rue de la Mairie. Opposite, head west onto Route de Kermerrien: yellow markings. Pass the Saint-Maudez wash house and descend towards the banks of the Penzé.

(1) At the edge of the Penzé, take the dyke on the right that separates the pond from the river. On your right, the Manoir de Trogriffon nestles in a green setting. At the end of the dyke are the ruins of an old tide mill, once powered by the water from the lake. Behind you, you can see the railway bridge on the Morlaix-Roscoff line (which has been out of service since June 2018).

(2) At Keracoual, turn left twice onto a footpath, then a sunken lane. You can linger on this path, which pays tribute to the memory of the seaweed farmers who once lived in the area.

(3) At the bottom of this path, turn left, then follow the shore at Anse de Sainte-Marguerite. You will pass Sainte-Marguerite Chapel, Henvic Harbour, then under the Pont de la Corde bridge.

(4) At the Jacques Gueguen memorial, leave the shore by taking a street on the right. Turn left at the top of this street and continue almost to the end. There is a beautiful view of the estuary.

(5) At Lingoz, turn right onto the path that climbs to a viewpoint overlooking part of Morlaix Bay. View of Saint-Pol-de-Leon, the Port of Roscoff on the left, Callot Island and Carantec on the right.
At Keryenevet, turn left to reach the start of a path on the right.

(6) Head south up this path through the fields for about 450 metres.

(7) At the top of the hill, there is a beautiful view of the bay. Turn left onto a road, then right, and carefully cross the Carantec-Pont de la Corde road (D173).

(8) Once you have crossed the road, follow the path on the right through the fields. Turn right again to descend towards Moulin du Band.

(9) Pass the wash house and immediately turn left. Follow the road, cross the bridge over the four-lane road and continue to the next fork.

(10) Continue straight ahead along the road for about 450 metres.

(11) At the Ty Croaz crossroads, take the road on the left to reach the village of Henvic. Once at the four-way crossroads, turn right onto Rue de Croas Men. Then cut left to cross a first car park, come out opposite the church and return to the car park (S/E).

Hello

At point 10, you can follow the path that branches off to the left among the vegetable fields. It avoids the road and takes you to the entrance to the village.

I wouldn't be as enthusiastic as the other hikers: there are indeed some very pleasant sections, the information boards at various points are all interesting, and the sunken path is quite nice, but there is far too much tarmac and the last section (after crossing the D58 for the return journey) is completely uninteresting.
That said, thank you to whoever mapped it out.

For me, after exploring the entire area, this is one of the most beautiful walks, especially the section that runs alongside the Penzé.

A very beautiful, easy hike with magnificent views of the Penzée estuary, Morlaix Bay, Roscoff and St Pol de Léon. We really enjoyed walking along the sunken path with information boards explaining how different types of seaweed are harvested and the life of seaweed gatherers.

A very pleasant, easy route.
Beautiful country lanes, lovely views, a sunken lane leading down to the estuary with information boards about life in the past and seaweed. Local residents have installed sculptures made from glass bottles found while cleaning the lane.
Parking is very easy in Henvic.
