Departure from the Salle des Fêtes in Avaux.
(S/E) Take the path opposite the Salle des Fêtes for 200 metres to reach the road on the right towards Vieux-Lès-Asfeld.
Follow this road for 600 metres, passing successively over the bridge over the Aisne and the Canal des Ardennes.
(1) Take the towpath on your left along the canal for 1.6 km until you reach the Asfeld grain silo, passing in front of the ponds where pike are bred.
(2) Leave the towpath and turn right onto the street towards Asfeld for 200 metres.
At the first crossroads, turn left and walk along the pétanque court for 350 metres.
When you reach the secondary school, turn right and walk 250 metres to the heart of the walk, where you will find the 17th-century Baroque church.
(3) Turn right to reach the heart of the village with the Place Grand-Cour and the Asfeld Town Hall.
Pass in front of the town hall and walk alongside the village hall, then turn right onto Chemin du Bochet and continue for 200 metres to reach Rue du Pont de La Folie.
Cross Rue du Pont de La Folie immediately to reach the municipal wash house opposite, below.
Leaving the wash house, turn left and stay on the pavement for 100 metres. At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue de la Gare, which leads to the housing estate of the same name.
(4) Continue straight ahead on the path at the end of Rue de la Gare for 1.2 km, passing the trout ponds and taking the sunken path that leads to Vieux-lès-Asfeld.
Pass the wash house and the station, which are located side by side, to reach the road that leads to Avaux.
Turn right onto the road to return to Avaux.
(1) Cross the Pont du Canal des Ardennes and Pont de l'Aisne bridges again to reach the path on the right that leads back to the Salle des Fêtes d'Avaux (S/E).
