Around the Basseille Stream

The Ruisseau de Basseille has its source in the Fagne de la Borne near the Saint-Hubert Aerodrome and flows into the western Ourthe near Ortheuville. This walk follows its course more or less closely for about 6 km.

Description of the walk

Exclusively woodland except for the first 500 metres. The route alternates between fir, oak and beech forests, mainly on wide grassy or stony paths... with a little tarmac here and there.
The stream is at its best between km 6 and 8, although the entire route is very pleasant.

Notes

There are few benches, few picnic tables, no water points and only one open-air café in Laneuville-au-Bois, which is only open at weekends and has a rather unwelcoming atmosphere (based on our experience today).
