Description of the walk

Access: Take the D44 road connecting Bénodet to Pont-l'Abbé, turn at the Kermor sign, beach pictogram viewpoint. The large car park is immediately on the right as soon as you take this road.

YellowPR® markings

(S/E) With your back to the car park, head towards the old dovecote, which has been converted into an observatory (you can go up there). Take the road on the left towards the Kerscuntec farm, which has been converted into lodges.

(1) Turn right onto a wooded path and follow it southwards. From time to time, old oak trees spill over the embankment. Further on, the path runs alongside a majestic pine forest and turns south-east. At the barrier, near an iron cross on the right-hand embankment, turn right.

Off the marked trail

(2) Follow this wide path, ignoring the paths on the left and right. You will come to a barrier just before the Roscanvel farm, where the Sivom Combrit - Île-Tudy office is located (documentation on the polder).

YellowPR® markings

(3) Turn left to rejoin thePR®. Just after the farm buildings, you will see a pretty fountain and wash house on the right. These are not marked on the map or on site. Continue along the path, which may be wet in winter, until you reach a small road.
Follow it to the left along a wide grassy strip. You will come out onto a busier road opposite the former holiday centre, which you will walk alongside.

(4) Follow this road to the left. It can be busy in summer as it leads to the beach. Look for the sign for Treustel Nevez-plage on the right, which is where we will return.

Off the marked trail

(5) At the Treustel Névez farm on the left, walk about 300 m back and forth to see the Menhir du Treustel. Retrace your steps, turn right for a few metres, cross the road carefully and turn left, following the sign you saw earlier (Treustel Nevez-plage).

YellowPR® markings (less frequent)

Walk past the abandoned tennis courts and follow the long straight path through a meadow. Cross a stream via a footbridge and continue until you reach a path on the right.

No markings

(6) Take this path, which continues along a street, and go to the end. Turn right to follow the footpath along the D144, pass the Étang de Kermor on your left and arrive at a street on the left.

(7) Turn into this street, follow it straight ahead, then turn left when you reach the GR®.

GR34 white and red markings + VTT2

Follow this road to the left towards Le Haffond. Continue straight ahead between the houses, then take the path that becomes grassy. Pass the farm, make a zigzag turn to join a carriage road marked with a "no entry except for residents" sign. Continue between the moorland and marshland to reach the Étang de Kermor dyke. Cross this dyke with the lake on your left and Anse de Pouldon on your right.

Off the marked trail

At the end of the dyke, continue along a grassy area beside some houses.

(8) At the end, turn left onto a footpath, cross a street and continue along this path to reach Avenue de Bretagne. Turn right and, at the Le Maracana bar-restaurant, take the pedestrian crossing and cross the avenue. Take Rue des Chardons Bleus to reach the dunes and the seashore.

GR34 white and red markings + VTT2 +PR® yellow

(9) Turn left towards the north-east and follow the path along the seafront.
Pass by the aqua walking centre.

(10) Continue along the Chemin des Douaniers.
This path runs between the polder wetlands and the dunes and was redeveloped after the damage caused by the storms of winter 2013-2014.
Shortly before leaving the coast, you can climb the dune via a specially constructed path to enjoy a beautiful view of the entire coastline. This is also the path you take to leave the beach if you have chosen to walk along the coast.
Go back down and continue for 50 metres to the right. Just before the car park, at a large isolated maritime pine tree, leave the Chemin des Douaniers on the left.

Unmarked

(11) Follow this grassy path heading north for about 1.7km. It becomes a wide bridle path lined with beautiful trees. At the barrier, turn left, follow the small road that passes near the Kerscuntec farm now on your right, then turn right near the dovecote to return to the car park (S/E).

A lovely, easy walk between land and sea
The tennis court at point 6 no longer exists, nor does the path.
You therefore need to turn a little earlier at a wooden barrier, onto the path that leads to the pond.
Best done in spring to enjoy the irises in bloom in the polders.

Hello, in point 6, the sign mentioned on the "8km Island Route" sheet no longer exists. However, this does not pose any orientation problems. Thank you for this beautiful hike.

A pleasant walk thanks to the diversity of the landscapes encountered.

Good hike, but the timing is for a family outing with children. The route takes no more than 2 hours.
