Park in the large car park near Combrit Town Hall. It is next to a motorhome area.
(S/E) On leaving the car park, follow the road to the left, turn left at the three-way junction and take a grassy path on the left (barrier at the entrance). You will emerge onto a large open space behind the church. Go through a gate to cross it. Note the imposing war memorial. Walk around Saint-Tugdual Church. Its bell tower, razed in 1675 during the Bonnet Revolt, was rebuilt in 1774 following authorisation from King Louis XVI, though it is likely more modest than the original Gothic spire.
Continue along Rue du Général De Gaulle, past the town hall and the post office. After the roundabout, keep left into Allée du Stang (signposted Bois de Roscouré). At a place called Le Stang, pass Betty’s Farm on your right.

(1) Pass through a gate and follow the wide stony path leading to the old car park shown on the map (note: this is no longer in use). Walk gently along the edge of the woods. Look out for the modest Fontaine de Touligon on the left (signposted), somewhat hidden in the vegetation a few metres from the main path.
(2) Cross the old car park, where logs are usually stored; turn right at the far end, then right again, and you’ll reach a low wall (on the left, you can catch a glimpse of a bend in the Odet).
(3) Keep to the right to take the uphill path authorised for horse riders (blue arrow) and follow this path as it heads a little further into the woods. At every fork you come to, always take the right-hand branch. Conifers give way to deciduous trees. Continue back towards the edge of the woods. A few rare signposts confirm you’re on the right track.
You’ll reach a steep descent with a fence on your right and arrive at a bridge at the edge of a bend in the river.
(4) After the bridge, begin a steep climb on the path, which is still open to horse riders, keeping the fence on your right. Continue along the same path, which gradually veers towards the approach to the Pont de Cornouaille. At the junction (overlooking the Odet), turn right and head towards the gate marking the entrance to the Bois de Roscouré.

(5) After the gate, turn left to head down towards a car park, pass under the bridge just before the penultimate pier (graffiti at the base) and head back up, to the right, along the path leading to another car park. Look out for a mountain bike signpost.
(6) Opposite a tree with a large fork, one of whose branches extends into the fork in the road of another tree, look for the path opposite. Turn left onto this inconspicuous path which leads into the woods. Follow this south-facing single track which joins another path along the banks of the Odet and head down to the riverbank (view of the mouth of the Odet, Bénodet on the left bank and Saint-Marine on the right bank).
(7) Set off again, following the riverbank towards the bridge, pass underneath it at the car park and arrive at a junction.
(8) Follow the path on the right along the riverbank. This section is trickier: a narrow path between the pine trees where numerous roots and stones protrude, but it offers lovely views of the Odet. Join a wider path and follow it to the bridge you passed on the way out.

(4) Turn right and follow the wide path along the right bank of the Odet. Go round a large grassy area and arrive at a junction.
(9) Head off to the right and continue along the riverbank, ignoring all the paths branching off to the left. You’ll arrive facing Anse de Combrit, where the path veers left. Keep close to the edge of the cove and reach the dyke at the far end of the cove.
(10) Cross the dyke and turn right to continue along the other side of the cove. The path will veer left, now running alongside a new cove, Reluet.
(11) At the fork, keep to the right, cross the footbridge and follow the small path bordered by a stream on the left. Look out for the Roscouré wash house on the left. Walk up the street and, at the top, turn left to return to the car park (S/E).
