Around the hamlet of Grandes Rivières

Rue Monplaisir car park in Dompierre-sur-Mer.

(S/E) Go down this street, pass the traffic lights and continue straight on towards Sainte-Soulle until you reach the bend in the road.

(1) Take the path slightly to the left, pass a farm and arrive at a crossroads.

(2) Turn left onto the tarmac road and continue to the stop sign on Rue de Grolleau.

(3) Follow this road to the left, pass under the railway bridge and then over the Marans Canal bridge in La Rochelle, and continue for about 50 metres.

(4) Here, you have three parallel options:
- Go down to the canal level, but this is often impracticable
- Take the path above the canal in summer.
- I recommend the third path after the dune, which remains passable in all seasons (marked route). Continue straight ahead on this path, passing the Dompierre-sur-Mer gymnasium, the football stadium and a stud farm on your right. You will arrive at Rue du Lieutenant Botton.

(5) Turn left, cross the bridge over the canal again, then go under the railway bridge.

(6) Immediately afterwards, turn left and continue along the path until you reach the first street on the right.

(7) Turn right until you reach the bend in this street.

(8) Turn right onto a path and follow it to Rue Monplaisir. Turn right and return to the car park on this street (S/E).
