Park in the car park just past the Guinguette car park in Amfreville-sous-les-Monts.
(S/E) Take the footbridge to cross the Seine. Do stop to admire the Amfreville Locks, the view over the banks of the Seine and the Côte des Deux Amants.
(1) At the end of the footbridge, turn right and follow theGR®® path which runs alongside the Seine and joins Rue du Port, which you should take to the right. Carry on until you pass the campsite and reach the D110.
(2) At the Stop sign, cross the D110 and turn right to follow the path running alongside the Lac des Deux Amants on your left. Stay as close to the lake as possible, passing below the Biotropica zoological greenhouse and rounding first one beach, then a second.
(3) When theGR®® turns right, stop following it. Carry on straight ahead to continue round the lake, via the path running parallel to the D110 on your right.
(4) At the junction, head straight ahead and follow the path which enters a wooded area bordering the lake on your left. Turn left when this path becomes a small road (closed to motorised traffic). Continue to the end of this road.
(5) Take the path on the left and continue along the lake on your left until you reach thefirst fork in the path.
(6) Head right to cross the D110, face the EDF post and take the path on the left which runs alongside the D110 on your left and Lac Du Mesnil on your right. Pass the sailing school on your right as you continue along the path, which turns left for about ten metres and becomes a small street.
(7) Follow it straight on, cross thefirst junction and then, at the next one, turn right towards the church. Walk round it so that it is on your right.
Carry on along Rue de l’Eglise, past the two Regional Youth and Sport Centres, until you reach the Y-junction.
(8) Turn right onto Rue des Sablons, then, at the end of the street, turn left. Carry straight on at thefirst junction, then turn right at the second one onto Rue du Mesnil. Follow this road until it bends at a right angle.
(9) Turn left onto the path that leads into the copse and heads towards the banks of the Seine.
(10) Turn left to follow the Seine, which is now on your right. Continue along this path until you reach a bench just before the campsite on your left, where the path becomes a small street that continues to run alongside the river.
(11) Continue to the right along the banks of the Seine, passing the two boats moored at the Musée de la Batellerie whilst admiring, amongst other things, the cliffs on the opposite bank and the bell tower of the church at Amfreville-sous-les-Monts, until you reach the footbridge over the Seine that you crossed at the start.
(1) Turn right after the Seinoscope at the fish pass to go up onto the footbridge. At the other end, turn right to return to the starting point (S/E).
