To get to the starting point, from Moisenay, head towards Sivry-Courtry (D126), cross the Pont du Mée bridge and then turn right a few metres further on towards La Ronce. Walk along the buildings of La Ronce and park on the edge of the white path that branches off to the right at the corner of the property wall.
(S/E) Continue along the road, walk along the field on your right, pass a curved wall with a property entrance on your left and continue to the corner where the field meets the forest.
(1) Continue to the right and follow the edge of the forest. Cross a strip of woodland and continue to the end of the woods, following the edge of the forest.
At the corner, where there are four grassy paths, continue to the left, turning at an acute angle. After crossing some undergrowth, follow the edge of the forest, turn right at the corner and you will reach the Moulin de Pouilly.
(2) Take a look at the beautiful house at the foot of a ford. This house is on the edge of the castle grounds.
Continue along the stone footbridge at the edge of the ford on the access road to the mill, then take thefirst path on the right a few metres before joining the path.
Follow the path along the edge of the Ru d'Ancœuil stream, then when you leave the woods, head to the end of the meadow. Cross the stream via the stone bridge and you will reach the water treatment plant.
(3) Go behind the water treatment plant, follow the edge of the woods and reach a crossroads.
(4) Continue left along the road, cross the Pont du Mée bridge, then turn right onto Chemin du Mazot. A few metres further on, take the path on the right that runs more or less alongside the Ru d'Ancœuil stream in the forest. You will reach a building at a place called Moulin de la Roue. Take the grassy path on the right and cross the Ancœuil stream again.
(5) Immediately afterwards, turn left and follow the path that runs alongside a cultivated field and then enters the forest. Leave the undergrowth and find a path between the meadows.
(6) Take the path on the right "away from the hikers' trails" then turn right and follow a stream (a very pleasant walk). Return to the path you took earlier, turn right and head for the fork at the end of the field.
(5) Turn left. Go up this path, ignore a turn-off on the right, then cross a road. Reach the woods opposite.
(7) If you cannot find the path marked on the map in the woods (there and back), walk along the field and join the grassy path between the fields.
(8) Follow this path between the gently sloping fields, cross a stream and return to the farm at a place called La Ronce (S/E).
t practically follows a river the whole way! We found this hike magnificent, although it lacked sunshine! With sunshine, in spring and autumn, it must be really pleasant!!!
