Start at the junction of the Vaux-le-Pénil vineyard trail, known as the Chemin du Bois d'Eplain.
Take the Chemin de la Mare Marotte heading south-east. Turn right onto the Chemin du Bois Dazier, cross the Chemin de la Garenne again after a few bends and you will arrive at Place Mouton (1).
N.B. From Place Mouton, there is a small detour, known as Section 2, which is 2.7 km long.
From Place Mouton, take Tronçon 1 via Rue de la Folie, which you follow until you reach the wooden barrier. Enter the forest and, at the end of the path, take the trail on your right for 700 m and turn left onto Route Royale. At the point (2), take the path on the right. After 250 m, turn right again. Continue along section 1, leaving section 2 on your right. Go through a gate to reach a clearing, which you follow straight ahead (the clearing is on your right). The forest exit leads you to a field (3). Leave the path on your left (Chemin de la Clotée). At the end of the path, you will arrive at the Bois de la Bergerie. At the crossroads (4), leave theGR® opposite, which continues towards Chartrette, and turn right into the undergrowth (avoid the ruts, which are often flooded on rainy days). Follow this path for 500 metres until you reach the edge of the woods. Continue past the metal barrier to the broken cross on the D39 (5). Carefully follow this road on the right for 50 metres, then turn right, and you will be back in the Bois de Livry.
After 500 metres (6), turn left onto Chemin des Fours à Chaux, which will take you 1 kilometre to the barrier at the end of the woods on the street of the same name (7). Follow this street to Rue des Mardelles, where you turn right.
After 100 metres, on the left, the Sentier des Dragées will take you to the charming little church square. Turn right, walk past the small grocery shop (where you can buy supplies) and continue straight on to Rue du Clos de Givry.
At the cemetery, turn left and then left again onto Rue de la Garenne.
Be careful, after 50 metres the path continues on the right alongside the houses in the forest. Follow the pleasant winding path up to Chemin de la Garenne, which you cross. You are now on Chemin des Meuniers, which you follow to the end.
A sign here indicates that after 200 metres on Chemin du Bois d'Eplain, you can take the Vaux le Pénil vineyard trail (another walk).
