Description of the walk

Malause stadium car park.

(S/E) Head south towards the greenhouses.

(1) Before the greenhouses, turn left onto Chemin de Mailluc. At the next junction, turn right onto Chemin de Las Moles. Continue to the D4.

(2) At the junction with the Route Royale, carry on straight ahead, then turn left into the cul-de-sac. At the end, take the dirt track on the left.

(3) You’ll come out onto a small road (with the Church of Sainte-Rose opposite) and follow it to the left. At the next junction, turn right and pass the hamlet of Massip.

(4) Just before the hamlet of Burdailles, turn left. At the bend, leave the road and take the dirt track on the left. Then turn into thefirst track on the right, towards the Grenier du Levant. Head down the ridge and reach the hamlet of Rosières.

(5) Take the path branching off to the right, heading due north (do not follow the road), and pass close to a stone house. Follow the Malause terraces downhill, skirting the apple trees.

(6) Turn left onto the road. Pass through Proufa and carry on straight ahead.

(7) Just after a road on the left and just before the hamlet of Cayrac, take a dirt track on the left. Head towards Bretounel.

(8) Turn left onto the Route de Bretounel. You’ll pass the dovecote and then turn right. You’ll be back on part of the route you took on the way there. At the bottom, turn right and head for the stadium car park (S/E).

A lovely little walk suitable for (almost) everyone, despite a fairly long climb – though it’s great for improving your cardio. Perhaps a bit too much tarmac along the route, but what a peaceful spot!

Plenty of tarmac for me (but on roads with very little traffic), as well as some lovely, pleasant paths where we came across a deer.
The walk wasn’t particularly difficult and took 2 hours 15 minutes (no breaks and at a leisurely pace).
At one point, you’ll come to a plateau with two houses (one old, one modern) with no fence: there was a dog (medium-sized, brown – I’m rubbish at identifying dog breeds) that came running towards us from the modern house (which took us by surprise); however, don’t worry, he’s extremely friendly and a good dog (I was with my own dog and had absolutely no problems).
Thanks to the creator of this walk and thanks to the app for getting me back on track several times

A bit too much tarmac for my liking… Don’t pay too much attention to the place names in the description, as there are no signs to identify them. Instead, follow the GPS track… or the ‘Terrasse de Malause’ signs where they are present…
A route that can be completed in 2 hours 15 minutes without rushing too much...

This walk was very pleasant and quite varied; if you follow the route using GPS and a map, you can’t go wrong.
There’s very little tarmac and the climbs aren’t very long. With spring here and nature coming to life, it’s brilliant.
