The walk starts from a picnic area on the Piste des Glacières, 6 km from Rougiers in the direction of Sainte-Baume. The road is narrow and it may be easier to take the higher route, Route de Mazaugues.
(S/E) Go behind a table and benches to take a path leading to the left, which is not very obvious at the start due to multiple paths around the area. Along the way, enjoy some beautiful views of the Nans plain. Walk for about 800 m and you will arrive at a track.
(1) Continue to the right until you reach a fork.
(2) Turn left, stay on the track for 1,800 metres and you will arrive at a clearing.
(3) Turn left and continue for about 600 m.
(4) Notice a discreet trailhead on the right, marked by a large overturned rock with red paint on its opposite side and a cairn-like structure. The trail winds for about 50 metres to the fountain. Return in the opposite direction to the clearing.
(3) At the bottom of the clearing, to the south, ignore a path marked by a cairn and take the path on the far left, then further to the right.
(5) After 350 metres, turn left onto a clearly visible path. This path then climbs gently to the right and winds its way through the forest. On the right, you will see a clearing where small groups can picnic, with a beautiful view of Sainte-Baume.
(6) When you reach a ridge, follow it for 500 m to the left, towards the east.
(7) Continue straight ahead on the GR® until you reach a crossroads and admire the small karstic cave known as Petit Saint-Cassien, which is clearly signposted. Take care with young children.
(8) Continue north-east.
(9) Cross the Piste des Glacières and turn right onto a path to reach a crossroads after about 250 m.
(10) Turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach the car park (S/E).
