Park in the small lay-by on the side of the road about 50 metres before the sign: Voie sans issue (Dead end).
(S/E) Continue on foot along the road until you reach the bend, then take a small path on the right (marked in red and yellow bythe GRP® Boucle de la Sainte-Baume).
(1) Leave theGRP® and turn left onto a blue-marked trail. You will come to a junction with another trail at a bend (sign S23).
(2) Turn left and continue to Castrum Saint-Jean.
(3) Go around it on the left to reach the chapel, then continue on a path that begins to descend. At the first junction with a sign indicating an orientation table, turn left.
(4) Once you reach the table, enjoy the superb view of the Pre-Alps. Then return to the main track. A few dozen metres further on, take a track on the left that leads to the medieval village ruins.
(5) Return to the main track and continue downhill, passing two oratories.
(6) Take the path on the left (poorly marked at the beginning) to return to the car park (S/E).
. Plan to stop a little before your intended destination, otherwise you may have to turn around in difficult conditions. Another point to note is that, given that the path up the hill is quite steep and, above all, very stony for a long distance, a 'medium' difficulty rating would be more appropriate than 'easy'.
