Around Corneilla-de-Conflent via Fillols

Town hall car park in Corneilla-de-Conflent.

(S/E) From the car park, join Carrer d'Amunt (Upper Street) and turn left towards the church.

(1) Just before the church, take the descent on the right, which passes in front of a fountain, and join the Rivière de Fillols (Ribera de Fillols).

(2) Cross it at the broken bridge. A warning sign can be ignored. Head north-east up to Collada (Small Pass), a crossroads of tracks.

(3) Take the track that climbs to the right, south-east, for about 100 m.

(4) Leave the track and take the path that branches off to the left into the forest and rejoins it further up. Follow this track to the left and, from the highest point, descend to Fillols. At the road junction at Capelle de Sant Pere (Chapel of Saint Peter), continue right on Camí de la Capella (Chapel Path).

(6) In Fillols, from the church, follow the yellow and red markings of the GRP® Ronde du Canigou. Take the Route de Vernet for 200 m at the exit of the village.

(7) Leave the road and climb to the left, following the GRP® trail. At Coll Vell (Old Pass), continue straight ahead, still on the GRP®, and join the road (D27). Follow it to the left for about 100 metres.

(8) Leave the road and take the wide path through the forest which descends to Corneilla.

(9) Turn right onto Camí San Jaume (Way of St James) and join Carrer del Canigó (Canigou Street), continuing to the right until you reach the town hall car park (S/E).
