The walk starts at the school in the Basaburu neighbourhood. On Wednesdays or during school holidays, you can park there without inconveniencing other users.
(S/E) From the school, continue along the road for 70 metres, then turn left onto a track that runs under the trees for about 100 metres.
(1) Cross a concrete footbridge and immediately turn left, ignoring the red and white marked path.
Walk along the Latsa stream for 200 metres, then cross it and turn right until you reach a group of trees.
(2) Before reaching a road, turn right uphill between two fences until you arrive near the Kukulu farm. Go around the farm on the right, staying on a wide track.
(3) The route joins the small access road to the farm, which you should follow to the right for 550 m.
(4) Turn right onto a path that climbs between fences. After 450 m of steep climbing, you will come to the Col de Legarre road. 2 m before the road, climb up to the right onto the path and 120 m further on, join a wider track which you should follow to the right. The climb remains steep until you reach the plateau dominated by the Pic d'Ezcondray. Continue for 100 metres after the cattle enclosure.
(5) Descend to the right onto a wide path that descends rapidly towards the north-west in the direction of the Kukulu farm until you reach an elevation of 275 metres and a T-junction.
(6) Turn left, then, before crossing the stream, turn right onto a pretty forest path that descends to the right bank of the stream. At the T-junction, continue north-west, passing through a gate on the right to stay on theGR®8and return to the footbridge over the Latsa stream.
(1) Return along the same path to the car park (S/E).
