Access: By car, take the D20 between Espelette and Ainhoa. At the top of the hill, at the Col de Pinodieta (signposted), take the small road heading south-east for 250 metres. Park carefully so as not to obstruct the passage of tractors.
(S/E) On foot, take the track heading south-east, which climbs straight up. Note the yellow markings on your right and another for the Way of St James.
After walking for 10 minutes, at a three-way junction, do not go down to the right but continue climbing.
(1) At a crossroads with signs, do not continue straight ahead towards "Chapelle" but take the track that climbs to the left. After about 300 metres, you will reach a flat area with pidgeon hunting huts on the left and a barn on the right.
(2) Climb up to the right to the back of this barn and cross the fence via the designated passage. Climb straight up into the field along the pidgeon hunting huts and reach a second passage to cross a fence.
Continue along the small path on the right that passes near a pile of rocks. Go over another fence (this is the last one). 100 metres further on, you will cross to the other side of the small ridge.
(3) Continue along this track, which follows the red and white markedGR®10 trail, passing close to the entrance to some small caves on a bend. Admire the magnificent view of the village of Ainhoa on your right, then reach the calvary.
(4) The return journey follows the same route as the outward journey. Pass the caves again, then arrive at a sign for "zone pastorale" (pastoral area).
(3) Turn onto the path that descends to the left. The slope is gentle at first, then becomes steeper. At the bottom of this steep slope, turn right. 150 metres further down, you will rejoin the path you took on the way up.
(1) Follow it to the left until you reach the car park (S/E).
