The starting point is in the car park near the market in Espelette.
(S/E) From the market square, cross the street and take Ruelle Xerri Karrika, at the corner of which is the Doxpi restaurant. At the end, turn right and after 60 metres, turn left onto Rue Xurikiko Bidea, which leads to a green space with a restored wash house below on the left.
Take the footbridge over the D918. Continue along this path until you reach the tarmac road, then turn right onto this road which leads to the D918. Turn left and follow the main road for 150 metres until you reach the chemist's.
(1) Turn left onto the track that climbs south-west and joins a tarmac road. At the T-junction, turn right onto Oilakineko Bidea until you reach a three-way junction.
(2) Turn left onto Txuluntegiko Bidea. The road makes a wide loop to the left and becomes a track.
(3) Continue eastwards along the track until you reach a farm at the end of Mehatseko Bidea.
(4) Turn left towards the northeast onto the track that winds through the wooded areas and then crosses the woods to reach Oilakineko Bidea road.
(5) Turn right onto Oilakineko Bidea, then right onto Mikelenbordako Bidea (marked as a dead end). Continue to the end of the tarmac road and continue on the track until you reach an intersection.
(6) Continue north-east on the track called Bidegaineko Bidea until you reach a tarmac section that descends towards the Carriat tannery on the D249, which runs from Espelette to Itxassou.
(7) Keep left on the departmental road to return to the car park (S/E).
