Access: from Allauch, head towards Logis Neuf then follow the D908 towards Peypin. Turn right onto the D46a at the Auberge de Pichauris and park in the large car park located about a hundred metres further on.

(S/E) From the car park, head towards the monumental gateway built of cut stone, pass it on the right and continue along the wide track until you reach a large junction marked by a tall signpost.
(1) Turn right (signposted ‘Château de Ners’), leave a path on your left and reach a fork in the track about 150 metres further on. Turn left, following thePR®®4sign. At the junction just after two low stone walls on either side of the path, follow the wide track which curves to the right and soon leads to an open area.
(2) Take the first track on the left and stay on this main track, heading generally south-south-east and ignoring all turn-offs to the left or right. Continue to a large crossroads (cistern no. 480 on the right).
(3) Do not take the track to the left, even though the sign for ‘Puits de l’Aroumi’ suggests you do so; instead, carry on straight ahead for about a hundred metres to reach the next junction. Leave the wide track and turn left onto a narrower path heading south-east towards some clearly visible rocky outcrops. The route through the scrub becomes a little more difficult on the path, which narrows and becomes more steep-sided, with a few rocky sections that are not difficult.
Further on, ignore a path branching off to the right and stay on thePR®®4signposted route; pass a flat area with a small stone shepherd’s shelter and continue straight on to reach a wide track.
No signposting
(4) Follow this track to the left until you reach a junction marked by a VTT6 signpost. Turn right to reach the Puits de l’Aroumi, which is situated under the trees on the right.

(5) Make the most of this idyllic spot to take a break if you wish. Then join the wide, flat path and follow it to the right until you reach a junction marked by a double signpost (PR®®4and VTT6).
(6) Leave the track and turn left onto a small stony path, which will take you past two junctions in succession; keep left at both. At the next Fork in the road, turn left (signposted Lascours).
(7) At the fork in the road, continue straight on (signposted ‘Mont du Marseillais – Pichauris’) along a stony but pleasant path which leads to a large crossroads (water tank 525).

(8) Take the first wide track on the right, leaving the cistern on your left. At the next junction, carry on straight ahead, temporarily leaving the dual signposting, which you will rejoin shortly afterwards. Turn left and continue to the wide track leading to the Mont du Marseillais facilities.
(9) Follow this track to the right up to the summit.
(10) Pass between the facilities, then turn left, skirting the rather vertiginous sheer drop (take care) and pass to the right of the last pylon to follow a path that is barely visible at first but where you’ll soon come across the dual signposting again. Once on the track, turn right and follow it for about 300 metres.
No markings
(11) About 50 metres before a marker post visible to the right of the track, turn left at a 90° angle and descend the steep slope to another track visible below (take care as this start is not clearly marked and you must be vigilant).

Turn left onto this track, pass a water tank on your right and continue straight on until you reach a T-junction.
(12) Turn right and continue downhill to a small road, which you’ll reach at a bend. Follow the road to the left until the fourth bend (to the right). Take extra care as the road is narrow, visibility is poor and there is no hard shoulder for most of this section.
No signposting
(13) At the bend, leave the road and take a wide track on the left which leads into the woodland. Pass the first track on the left, then a second one on the right.
(14) At the junction, carry on straight ahead and, about a hundred metres further on, turn left onto a very narrow, rather rutted track that descends steeply. Go straight on at the next junction (elevation 383) and continue for about 300 metres.
(15) At a small cairn (not very obvious and easy to miss), turn right onto a track that winds through the bushes. Very quickly, there are numerous paths and several possible routes. It is best to follow the tracks heading towards the partly ruined buildings of the hamlet of Pichauris, which are clearly visible opposite, and which lead to a wide, compacted track at the edge of a meadow.
Follow this track to the left, then turn right at the next junction and head towards the first buildings.
Turn left to return to the junction you passed at the start of the walk.
(1) You’ll soon reach the car park at the start (S/E) by following the route back in the opposite direction.
