Description of the walk

Start from the citadel car park, Boulevard du Général de Gaulle.

(S/E) Leave the car park, cross Boulevard du Général de Gaulle and turn left towards the citadel and its access path.

(1) Follow it to the right to enter the citadel, cross the parade ground and pass to the right of the arsenal. Pass under a fortification and reach a fork. Continue to the left and arrive at another fork.

(2) Turn right, then immediately left at the Y-junction and arrive at a crossroads.

(3) Continue straight on until you reach a street and a four-way crossroads.

(4) Turn right, then at the roundabout, turn left onto the D60.

(5) Cross the road carefully (as there are no pedestrian crossings) and take the path opposite. Continue to the bridge.

(6) Turn onto the path on the left, cross the bridge, then take the path on the right, which runs parallel to the road. You will reach the Virage des Tilleuls.

(7) Cross the road and continue along the path on the left closest to the road. At the end, turn left and head towards the woods.

(8) Follow the tarmac path on the left and continue to the roundabout. Cross over, continue straight ahead and reach the Crinchon.

(9) Turn left and follow the Crinchon to the first buildings.

(10) First turn left then right and continue along the Crinchon to Rue Émile Zola.

(11) First turn right then left and continue straight on until you reach a bridge.

(12) Keep going straight and follow the stream to the roundabout.

(13) Go through the roundabout and take the path on the right to continue along the stream until you reach Rue du Belloy.

(14) Turn left into the street, then right, and cross the level crossing. First turn left then right, pass a barrier and arrive at a junction.

(15) First turn right then left and continue straight on until you reach the Y-junction near the citadel.

(16) Turn left to enter the citadel and continue straight on until you reach Avenue du Mémorial des Fusillés, located just beyond the citadel exit. Turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
