Departure from the small car park at the Cayre Factory, Chemin du Paradis.
(S/E) In front of the chimney of the current Usine Cayre, walk along the building on the left towards the waterfall and the ruins of the old factory. Then take the footbridge to cross the Lampy river and climb the path on the other bank. At the top, turn right and walk up the Grand-Rue to the wash house.
(1) At Place du Lavoir, take the time to look at the works of art and go inside the wash house. Then take the street on the right called Chemin des Moulins and walk past the picnic tables. At the Usine Saint-Pierre (private property), keep left to continue along the street. Just after the beautiful mansion, take the small path on the left that climbs behind a building towards the woods. Pass over the ruins of the Moulin Battant and, before the next mill, turn left to climb into the woods along the dry stone walls.
(2) At the edge of the woods, follow the small road to the right and, 200 m further on, turn right towards Badens. Ignore thefirst property (Le Foulon) and then thesecond (chalet). At the end of the cul-de-sac, you will enter a private road (hunting prohibited, LPO refuge): please be discreet.
(3) Just before the two stabilised paths (no trespassing on the property), turn right onto the grassy path that descends and then runs alongside the stream above the industrial ruins (la Mécanique du Père). Then, after the bamboo grove and the two streams, climb back up the slope, using the rope if necessary. At the top, follow the old irrigation channel to the right (no exit on the left) until you reach the dam. After admiring the waterfall, climb the path on the left.
(4) At the dam, follow the path straight ahead along the reservoir. Cross a stream and continue to the end of the lake, where the Lampy River descends from the Montagne Noire: the return trip is via the same route.
(4) Back at the dam, take the wide, stabilised access road. At the top, continue straight ahead.
(5) At the crossroads, take the small, rutted road on the right and, 100 metres further on in the bend, turn left onto the path that crosses the grasslands. Go through the gate to descend to the viewpoint.
(6) Enjoy the landscape explained by the sign, then return by the same path to the road.
(5) Once back, turn right and walk down to the village.
(2) Continue straight ahead, ignoring the path you took on the way up on your left. Back at the wash house square, take a short tour of the village to see other heritage sites before returning to the Usine Cayre car park (S/E).
