Park near the town hall in Verdun-en-Lauraguais.
(S/E) Take Rue des Jardins then Rue de la Barbacane. Continue by taking the small path to the right of the house with green shutters; the path runs alongside the old gardens. Follow the pleasant path between the rocks. Please note that this path can be slippery. Go downhill to reach the road.
(1) Cross the road and take the path opposite. Return to this road and follow the stream. You will then come to a signpost; turn right. Follow this small path to the junction with theGR®7.
(2) Turn right onto it to head back towards the village, following the red and white markings. You will come back to the junction you passed on the way out.
(1) Follow the same path back in the opposite direction to the passage between the rocks. Turn right here to enter the village. Walk straight up, then take Rue Centrale and walk past the church along Rue de l’Arcade to the fountain. Go under the bell tower and turn right to rejoin Rue Centrale.
Take the small covered passageway on the right. After the narrow lane, take the stairs to reach the library.
(3) Here you have two options:
- turn left and return to the starting point (S/E),
- continue towards the Moulin d'Amont; to do this, cross the road to join the path below. Walk past the ruins of an old mill and over a small bridge. Follow the path to the road.
Turn left onto the road. Continue straight on until you reach the Moulin d'Amont Bridge.
(5) Cross the Ruisseau de Tenten and turn right at the signpost. When you reach the swimming pool, turn left to reach the holiday village chalets; walk alongside them until you reach the Chemin des Silex. Then turn left to head back towards the village and pass by Le Communal and the War Memorial to return to the town hall. (S/E)
