Park in one of the two car parks at Château de Coudray-Salbart.
(S/E) From the car park at the foot of the château, turn right onto the road and then left towards the picnic area. Note the Salbart wash house on your left and continue along this small road.
(1) After the pumping station, leave the road on the right that leads to farm buildings and continue straight ahead on a white road.
(2) Turn left onto the road and then left again onto the D107. After the bridges, about 420 metres further on, turn left after the Gué Moreau house. At the junction with Rue du Moulin Neuf, turn left. Note the wash house immediately on your left and continue along the white path parallel to the Sèvre.
(3) Turn right onto the road towards Château Gaillard (shortcut possible - see Practical Information section). Walk 900 metres along the road.
(4) Take the path that descends to the left, opposite the castle entrance gate. Note the dovecote above on the right. Then turn left to walk alongside a shed and follow a path along the Sèvre Niortaise. After about 500 metres, pass under the D743 bridge, turn right and then left after 120 metres.
(5) Turn left and enter the Marais recreation area. Join the path to the left and take it to the right to exit a little further on. Turn right and then left at the car park exit onto Chemin du Marais.
(6) Turn left onto Grand Rue. Cross two bridges to reach Rue d'Androlet.
You can make a round trip to the Château de la Taillée, 200 metres to the right after the second bridge
(7) Turn left towards Château de Salbart. Go under the bridge and continue to the right, staying on the road.
(8) 440 metres after the bridge, at the T-junction, take the path opposite that climbs between the two roads, alongside a power line. Turn left when you reach the street (Impasse du Peu).
(9) Turn right onto Chemin des Hauts de Salbart and, after 120 metres, continue along the path that descends into the woods. At Rue de la Fontaine Braye, turn left and then immediately right at the fountain.
(10) 70 metres after the fountain, take the path on the left that climbs up to the village of Fontaine Braye. Cross the crossroads and take Rue de la Rouère opposite, then turn left at the first street.
(11) Turn left onto Rue de Sainte-Ouenne, then right onto Grand'Rue de Ternanteuil. After about 50 metres, turn left onto Rue de la Fontaine Braye.
(12) At the 50 km/h speed limit sign, turn right onto a small path that runs between two gardens. Be careful, as there is a slightly tricky descent to a turnstile providing access to the pasture. Continue to the right across the meadow. Exit at the end of the meadow through another turnstile and return to the car park (S/E).
