(S/E) Start from the car park at Asnières Town Hall (Eure), behind the church. Walk round the church, then head south-west towards the hamlet known as ‘La Vacherie’.
(1) Take the path on your left towards the wayside cross. Turn right, then, 200 metres further on, turn left. At the first junction, about 300 metres further on, turn left again.
(2) Cross the junction heading due north, then turn right, left and finally right again to join the D22. Cross carefully and, after 30 metres, take a path on your left. Continue, keeping to the right, until you reach a statue of the Virgin Mary.
(3) Turn left, then immediately right. At the end of the road, turn right then left towards La Chaupardière. Once you’ve passed the buildings, make a zigzag turn left then right.
(4) Take the path on your left, which leads downhill, and join a road which you should follow to the right. When you reach the Haras de la Rivière, turn left.
(5) Cross La Calonne and continue to your right, heading uphill towards La Valdorgère. Once you reach the road, make another zigzag right-left turn.
(6) At the end of this path, turn right again, then left, and carry on straight ahead until you reach a junction after passing a pumping station on your right.
(7) Take the hairpin bend to the left, heading west; turn left at the next Fork in the road and stay on this main track. At the junction 200 metres before a road, carry on straight ahead to join it. Cross the road and continue straight on to the first crossroads.
(8) At this junction, turn right; then, 400 metres further on and before the 159-metre mark, turn left and continue to (9).
(9) Cross over to enter the forest, then carry on straight ahead along the road.
(10) Turn left, then after 300m, turn right onto a path that leads all the way downhill to the River Calonne. Carry on straight ahead, cross a small wooden bridge and continue straight on until you reach the D22. Cross with care to reach a junction.
(11) Turn right, then, at the end of the path, turn left towards a statue. The path lies behind it as it enters the forest, offering a beautiful row of trees to admire. After a descent and an ascent, you will reach the end of this walk and find yourself back at the town hall and the church in Asnières (S/E).
