Alpage de la Selle - Moussière

This pleasant second day begins with a climb to the Col de Moussière before passing by the very pleasant Lac du Lauzet, then taking the long forest track back to the Moussière car park.

This walk is part of a multi-day hike: Bivouac above Moussière

Description of the walk

(S) After packing up the various items from the bivouac, take the GR®541 in the opposite direction to the previous day and follow it to reach the Col de Moussière.

(1) Begin the descent with a few tight hairpin bends, then follow a fairly flat path to reach Lac du Lauzet.

(2) Turn left onto the wide track, continue down a very gentle slope and pass close to the Cabane du Lauzet on the right of the track.

(3) Continue along the track, leaving the Cabane du Spurc on your right, then reach a ford at a small stream.

(4) Cross, stay on the track and walk very slowly through the Bois Noir to reach the Moussière car park on a final straight stretch (E).

Notes

Between (2) and (3) before the Cabane du Lauzet and (4): possibility of replenishing water supplies from streams, water purification tablets recommended.
I have rated the difficulty as moderate because the participants' bags are quite heavy for this bivouac, much more so than for a typical day's hike.
