Along St Bees beach

St bees beach is one of the most beautiful beach in West Cumbria. The beach is dog-friendly all year round. Great view on Black Combe mountain.

Description der Wandertour

Start: St Bees Beachfront Car Park (CA27 0EY). This walk can only be done at low tide. Grid ref. NX 960 117

(S/E) From the car park, take one of the paths that goes down on the beach.

(1) Once on the beach take left (South-East) to walk on the beach. Continue on the beach until reaching a lot of rocks with a stream and seeing a little bridge on the left. (around 1.5 Km)

(2) Go in the direction of that little bridge (Do not cross it) and take the path on the left that goes up between St Bees golf course and the edge of the cliffs. Continue straight on that path until arriving behind the tearoom and reaching the car park (S/E)

(For a slightly longer walk it is possible to follow the England Coast path that will contour St Bees golf course by the bottom and join again the St Bees cliffs.)

Dog-friendly:Dog are free to roam on the beach all year round, however it can be very busy during summer months. Dog are not allowed to run on the St Bees Golf course.

Nice beach, the walk back on cliffs is very close to crumbly edge.
