Red and white markings of the GR®34

(S/E) Head west along the beaches to Kermengi.

(1) Take the road on the right before the car park and pass the Liberation Monument, situated on the left. Continue on the GR®34 along the coast. Leave the road at Poull Log to take the path on the right and continue along the coast to Penn Enez.

(2) Continue, keeping to the GR® on the opposite side.

(3) At the car park, continue along the path running along the coast.

(4) On reaching the car park, the path turns south-east and runs along the coast. Continue along the path. The Toul An Dour marsh is on the right.

(5) At Pointe du Vilh, the Aber Benoît begins. Keep right at the Fork in the road to reach the headland, then continue on to rejoin the GR®34.

(6) Continue southwards to reach the small port of Vihl. Pass it and take the path that continues to the right. Pass the fishponds.

No GR® markings

At the fork, leave the GR®34 on your right and continue along the road to the car park (lovely view over the Aber).

(7) Continue via the steps on the right to rejoin the GR®.

Red and white GR®34 markings

Continue along the edge of the Aber and follow the GR®34 to the left towards Coum. On reaching Coum, turn right twice.

(8) After the wash house, take Route Delamre Debouteville on the right, then Rue Pratt ar Coum on the right. After the aquaculture centre, rejoin a path. Continue along the Aber to the backwater. Go round the small backwater of the Aber on the left.

(9) Pass a house. At low tide, continue to the right across the foreshore, but be careful, it is slippery.

(10) Join the GR®34 at Bas de Penhouat and follow it straight on to a second small backwater

(11) Cross the small bridge. The GR®34 follows two routes. One via the foreshore – same warning as for the previous one – and the other via Kervégélan and the D28. To follow the suggested route, continue along the foreshore.

(12) The two routes converge at the entrance to the bridge over the aber. Cross the bridge to reach the picnic area and car park (E).
