Departure from Montereau-Fault-Yonne station (coming from Gare de Lyon: line R towards Montereau).
(S/E) Cross the drop-off parking area and turn right onto the street that crosses Place Pierre Semard.
(1) At the crossroads, turn right onto Rue Leo Lagrange, cross Rue du 8 Mai 1945 and continue straight on Rue Leo Lagrange until you reach the roundabout.
(2) Turn right onto Route de Sens, then immediately turn left before the railway bridge onto a footpath. Cross the Yonne river via the Pont de Moscou bridge.
(3) Turn right (taking the stairs) to pass under the bridge and follow the Yonne river with the GR® 2.
(4) Pass Port aux Oies with the Cannes Ecluse dam. On the left is the Ferme du Bon Accueil and on the right is the Ferme du Moulin. Continue straight ahead on the path, which becomes the PR® and makes a large left turn then right turn.
(5) At the Ecluse de la Brosse, at the junction, leave the Yonne and turn left into the Marais des Prés Hauts.
(6) Turn left and continue straight ahead, passing over the railway line and the A5 motorway.
(7) At the junction, continue straight ahead to the roundabout.
(8) Turn right onto the road that runs alongside the D411 with the PR®, then at the water tower, turn left onto Route de Barbey.Cross with caution.
(9) Pass in front of the Ferme de la Dime and enter Marolles-sur-Seine to reach the roundabout.
(10) Continue straight on the same street to the car park, then turn left onto Grande Rue, pass the post office, then turn right and, at the foot of the church, take a small path on the left that descends to Chemin des Iles, which you should follow to the left.
(11) When you reach the banks of the Seine, continue straight ahead along the Chemin de Halage.
(12) Pass under the railway line with the PR® trail, then under a second bridge with the A5 motorway and another railway line. Continue straight ahead, passing in front of a water treatment plant.
(13) When you reach the D1403 bridge, Rue des Clomart, cross it to get to the other side of the Seine, then at the roundabout, turn left immediately to reach the quays by going down the stairs.
(14) Follow the Quai de Seine Amont on the right until you reach the Pont de Seine.
(15) Go up to the left and pass in front of Place de la Légion d'Honneur, located on the island. Note the Old Castle of Montereau-Fault-Yonne on the left, then cross the Yonne.
(16) Continue straight on the D403, passing in front of the Collégiale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Loup and the Place du Parvis via Rue Jean Jaurès, then pass in front of the Montereau-Fault-Yonne town hall.
(17) After the town hall, turn right onto Rue des Récollets, cross Rue Victor Hugo, continue on Rue de la Faïencerie and cross Rue de la Pépinière Royale.
(18) Continue straight ahead at the crossroads with Rue Pierre Brossolette to see the Château des Amendes garden on your right. Cross Boulevard des Messieurs and Rue Poisson. Turn left onto Avenue de la Libération, cross Rue Etienne Thibault and arrive at the Chapelle du Sacré Cœur.
(19) Turn right onto Rue Paul Quesvers and walk past the Sacré-Cœur primary school. Continue along Rue Etienne Dolet and Rue des Prés Rebours to return to Montereau-Fault-Yonne station (S/E).
