Parking at the Mesnières-en-Bray castle car park.
(S) With your back to the château, head south-east and join the Avenue Verte (former railway line) at level crossing no. 82 (PN82). Turn left and follow it for about 500 metres to PN81 in Autrecourt.
(1) At PN81, leave the Avenue Verte and take the road on your left until you reach the D1 road. Cross it and continue along the dirt track opposite. At the first crossroads, take theGRP® path marked in red and yellow on your left, following a contour line. You will arrive at the Colline Saint-Amador site.
(2) Leave the marked path for a moment, turn right at a right angle and climb up to the orientation table (the slope is steep). Retrace your steps back to the marked path.
(2) Turn right onto the path that descends, curves to the right along the D97 and passes near the picnic area. Then turn left at a 90° angle, cross the D97 and take the first dirt track on your left to the T-junction.
(3) Turn right onto the path going uphill. Further on, turn left, walk along the woods and you will come out onto the tarmac road that leads to La Gâte.
(4) Turn left to descend into the valley. At the bottom of the road, you will come to a fork at the Mesnerettes sign. Continue straight ahead on the no-entry road until you reach the D1 road.
(5) Turn left onto the road, then take the first street on the right towards Avenue Verte and the PN83. Turn into the first street on the left, called Chemin de la Fontaine aux Dames. At the junction with Rue Vercot, continue straight ahead. When the street bends to the left, turn right to reach the Jardin des Dames below.
(6) Go down the steps, walk past the restored wash house where you can admire the Monument to the Unknown Lover (ceramic artwork). Leave the Jardin des Dames and continue along the sandy path that joins the Avenue Verte.
(7) When you reach the Avenue Verte, turn left and continue to PN82 in front of the Renaissance castle, where you will find the car park and your starting point.
