Park in the car park on Rue du Général De Gaulle (free for 2 hours) near Rue des Halles.
(S/E) Take Rue des Halles, then turn right between the moat and the car park. Turn left down Venelle de la Courtine and come out onto Rue de la Montée de l'Éperon. Turn right and walk a few metres to the crossroads with a footpath.
(1) Take it to the left, walk along the left bank of the Sèvre Nantaise to the Moulin de Plessard.
(2) Pass the mill and the water sports centre and continue along the path towards the Hellfest venue. Turn right towards the Arsenal bridge.
(3) At the bridge, turn right towards the village of Fouques. At the restaurant, turn left, then left again into the cul-de-sac. At the end, rejoin the path that descends towards the Sèvre and the Grotte de Lourdes. Pass by and zigzag up to La Grenotière, then rejoin the road.
(4) Make a right-left zigzag here to take the dirt track. At the crossroads, turn left onto the path that leads to a housing estate in Cugand.
(5) Turn left and descend towards the road. Cross over and head towards the fulling mill (wool processing) at Gaumier.
(6) Return to the right towards the road (no path visible on the IGN map at this point), join the departmental road, then turn left in single file to cross the Sèvre bridge and arrive in Loire-Atlantique.
(7) Before the roundabout, turn left towards the car park. Go up the road to the calvary, turn left towards Terbin to reach the canoe base.
(8) Follow the path to the Arsenal bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right.
(3) Pass the Hellfest headquarters and the Plassard mill and rejoin Rue de l'Éperon by retracing your steps.
(1) Walk up the street along the footpath. On the right, Rue Jean Prigent joins the car park (S/E) via the pavement. You will arrive near one of the castle towers, with breathtaking views.
