A lovely walk to the famous and distinctive Col Mitjà, visible from many points in Cerdagne and even from Capcir. A significant elevation gain (1,000 m) but no particular difficulty. The route partly follows the GR®10. There is also a forest track leading up to it, for those who prefer not to tackle too steep a climb, or for a mountain bike or horse ride. From Col Mitjà, the more adventurous can climb Pic Gallinàs (2,624 m) or Puig Rodon (2,677 m), which surround it.

A very pleasant circular walk, with a 360° view from the top of the Tour del Far, and a lovely stroll along the ridge of the Serra that separates Tautavel from Cases de Pène. On the way back, you pass a solar farm and through the gorges of a former marble quarry, now disused.

A pleasant hike of moderate difficulty, except for the final climb up Munhoa, which is quite steep. Magnificent views of the Basque Country landscape. The outward leg of the hike follows the GR®10 to the Col d'Urdanzia. The return leg is not marked, so we recommend using the Visorando app.

A simple and enjoyable circular snowshoe loop above the village of Formiguères. There was a lot of snow when we did it. The ridge offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.

A lovely circular cycle route offering beautiful views of the estuary and a chance to explore the nearby countryside, with its hillsides and marshes. Whilst you’re there, stop off at Talmont to visit one of the most beautiful villages in France. The route is well signposted, the roads are very quiet and there are significant stretches of cycle path. Follow the cycle path signposted ‘des deux mers’, then cycle path 5, then cycle path 4.

A pleasant circular route that mainly follows cycle paths, plus a short stretch of track easily accessible on a hybrid bike. You’ll cross the plains of Roussillon (vineyards, but also a lot of wasteland these days…) through unspoilt countryside. You’ll pass through three villages without any particular difficulty (no traffic).
