The typical, picturesque village of Fontarrabie is one of the region's finest examples of Basque-Spanish culture and architecture. With its facades of brightly-colored wood contrasting with the surrounding white, its pedestrian streets, ancient fortifications and cathedral, it's a Basque journey summed up in one town. Numerous cafés and "pintxos" bars line the route for a gastronomic break.

Montaña Amarilla was created by an underwater volcanic eruption, the crater of which still dominates the area. The sea and erosion have finished shaping the surrounding area into a curious and singular landscape found nowhere else on the island. The landscapes follow one another, with rows of volcanic cones dominated first by Teide, then by the coast, where the yellow rock that gives the mountain its name appears.

A completely easy route combining history, gastronomy and discovery in a picture-postcard setting. Five kilometres long, it starts near the Chapel of the Villa Algérienne, passes through four oyster-farming villages nestled between beaches and pine trees, before ending at Pointe aux Chevaux.

This is one of the most beautiful trails on the Cinque Terre coast. Passing through vineyards and forests with Mediterranean vegetation, it offers magnificent views at every turn with the sea as a backdrop. Fairly easy despite a steep climb at the start, it allows you to soak up the atmosphere of the Cinque Terre! (!) Starting from the centre of Loudenvielle, this lovely route offers exceptional views of Lake Génos while recounting the history of the town. It is not particularly difficult and can be enjoyed by the whole family, although it is best to choose a dry day as the stones can be slippery when wet.

Capital of the island of Lanzarote since the 19th century, Arrecife is a large, dynamic town in stark contrast to the rest of the island. However, it retains a typical historic heart and a magnificent seafront. The De Guaguas bus station is an important transport hub from the airport. If you're a first-time visitor to Arrecife, this route will take you to the town centre and the famous Charco de San Gines, before heading off to your vacation destination.

The northern tip of the island of Oléron evokes mixed feelings. Its wide open spaces give a sense of boundless freedom, its cliffs make it feel like the end of the world, while its traditional villages transport you to another era. Add to this a magnificent lighthouse watching over the surrounding area, and you have the perfect combination of history and culture mixed with exceptional panoramic views.

Deux Jumeaux station is the closest station in Hendaye to the beach. But instead of heading straight for the water, a detour via Chingudy Bay may prove worthwhile. It takes you back to the beach promenade via the old casino before reaching Pointe Sainte-Anne, where you can enjoy an exceptional view of the Deux Jumeaux, the famous rocks.

Dwejra is an enchanting place with its inland sea, blue hole, tower and bay. It is the ideal starting point for a hike along Gozo's rugged coastline, at the top of vertiginous cliffs. The trail passes historical points of interest and absolutely magnificent landscapes before reaching the typical village of Xlendi.A regular bus service runs from the starting point and a second service connects the finish to Victoria.

Marsalforn is a charming village in the north of Gozo with a beautiful bay. A hillside hike takes you from this pretty harbour to the famous Ramla Bay Beach. The coastal scenery is stunning and the view of the bay from the mountains is breathtaking. Both the start and finish points are served by regular bus services, so you don't have to worry about walking back.

Marsalforn is a charming village in the north of Gozo with a magnificent bay. On the outskirts of the town stands a hill rising to a height of about 80 metres, overlooking the surrounding area. A statue of Christ was erected on top of the hill in 1979.It is the summit of this hill that I suggest you climb during this hike. The views of Gozo and Victoria are remarkable.
