Towards the Clausmatt inn from the Pépinière
This moderately difficult route passes through beautiful, diverse forests with several points of interest. You can rest or eat at the Clausmatt inn, run by the Espoir association.
A tour of the Grand Ballon from the Glashutte
This route leads to the Col du Grand Ballon, starting from the Glashutte. It crosses forests, including beautiful beech woods, and stubble fields where the view can be very beautiful. Please note that crampons and snowshoes are required in winter.
Notre-Dame de Hubel and Schauenberg, starting from Westhalten
This route, starting from the Westhalten cemetery, leads first to the Zinnkoepfle, then to the Notre-Dame du Hubel crossroads, and finally to Schauenberg via a pleasant forest path. You can return via the same route, or choose to head towards the other hill, the Strangenberg.
Notre-Dame du Hubel and Saint-Marc Convent, starting from Westhalten
This walk takes you across the Hohberg plateau and its beautiful forests, passing by the Lutzelberg and Plaies Crosses. You can also enjoy the view of the plain before Notre-Dame du Hubel and the beauty of the forest on the Hohberg plateau.
Above La Vancelle
A route starting from the heights of La Vancelle, offering the chance to discover interesting and often impressive rock formations. A steady climb for an hour and a half; the rest of the route is easy. Numerous stops possible
From Westhalten to the Oelberg Chapel
A short walk allowing you to explore Strangenberg Hill, starting from the car park at Westhalten Cemetery. The route suggested here is a return walk, but you’ll easily find alternative routes for the return leg, particularly at the top of the hill.
The Taennchel, starting from the Grande Verrerie
A walk starting from the hamlet of La Grande Verrerie, allowing you to explore almost the entire Taennchel massif. Allow a full day for the best experience. There is a wealth of literature on the Taennchel, and the information boards along the route help you gain a better understanding of the area.
