Wittenschwand - Görwihl

The starting point for this hike is the Dachsberger Hotel in Wittenschwand.

Signposting: Schwarzwald Albsteig, white Albsteig signs.

(S) From the Dachsberger Hotel, return to the town hall via Kapellenstrasse. Turn right onto Rathausestrasse and rejoin the Albsteig via Arnoldslochweg.

(1) Turn right after a climb through the forest and you will arrive at a group of houses.

(2) Turn right, return to a roundabout, then cross a playground.

(3) Head south and follow the Albsteig signs, continuing uphill towards Dachsberg, the highest point of the day. Pass Dachsberg and cross a track.

(4) Turn left, staying on the Albsteig, and walk to the entrance to the hamlet of Wolpadingen. Cross the Landstrasse to find a sign for Görwihl.

(5) Turn left, cross Wolpadingen and rejoin the Landstrasse, leaving it at a fork at the exit of the hamlet and look out for another white Albsteig diamond.

(6) Follow the white diamond signs to a crossroads.

(7) Follow the signs for Görwihl and the white diamond signs to return to the hamlet of Immeneich.

(8) Head south towards Nidermühle. Cross the L164 road and follow it north for about 20 metres. Look for a sign for Görwihl just after the building on the right.

(9) Still on the Albsteig, continue south to the place called Bantlistloch.

(10) Follow the signs for Görwihl until you cross Stiegstrasse.

(11) Descend towards the Alb after several hairpin bends, cross the river, ignore the first turn-off on the left (dead end) and you will see another sign for Görwihl.

(12) Continue on the Albsteig heading south-west, crossing the Alb again.

(13) Follow the white Albsteig signs at the various intersections and continue to the entrance to Görwihl. Cross the Höllbach stream and look for a sign for Görwihl 1.2 km ahead.

(14) At the sign, leave the Albsteig, turn right, head west, then south to reach Görwihl-Hauptstrasse.

(15) Return to Albert-Schweitzer-Strasse, turn right onto Schmiedgasse, then left onto Unterer Moosweg to reach the Wolke 7 apartment, your accommodation for the night. (E)
