Vérimande - Colle Basse d'Annot

Park in Annot, in the car park on Place de la Mairie.

(S/E) Cross the bridge over the Vaïre then, from the sign for “Espace Trail Secteur des Grès”, turn right, follow the Promenade de Vérimande and then the riding school to reach the Chapelle de Vérimande.

(1) Take the path opposite and to the left of the chapel, signposted “Trail 12”. Join the small road known as Chemin de la Colle Basse.

(2) Cross the road and turn right, following it along. Walk for about 300 m.

(3) Leave the road and take a forest track that winds sharply to the left. Climb the hill, taking a first sharp bend to the right then a second to the left.

(4) About fifty metres after this, take the path on the right which winds steeply upwards and rejoins the Chemin de la Colle Basse. Cross it to take the path opposite, which rejoins the Chemin de la Colle Basse once more.

(5) Cross the road, continue straight ahead and rejoin it one last time near the Roncharel refuge. Then turn left for about twenty metres.

(6) Turn left to begin the descent, following the GRP® Vallée de la Vaïre: yellow and red markings. Pass beneath the refuge and reach the junction with a forest track coming from the left.

(7) Go straight on to follow this path, keeping to the GRP® markings.

(8) Pass the Ravin des Glaïres and continue for about 400 m.

(9) Leave the path leading directly to the car park and the Palluy lodge on your left. Turn right to begin a long traverse along the hillside, which ends with two hairpin bends before opening out onto a junction.

(10) Turn left to begin the descent towards Annot. You’ll reach the tarmac road at Chemin des Abrits.

(11) Keep going in the same direction to reach the bridge over the Vaïre. Cross it to return to the car park (S/E).
