A loop around the Morvan balconies starting from the hamlet of Huis Blin

Park alongside the D6 at the hamlet of Huis Blin.

(S/E) Follow the Route du Ruisseau de la Chaume past the houses in l'Huis Blin. At the last houses, reach a T-shaped crossroads.

(1) Take the rising road to the right and join the D6 at the hamlet of Feuillon.

(2) Turn left, keeping your eyes peeled; a few hundred metres further on, you will come to a crossroads with a forest track.

(3) Turn left onto this track, continuing into the forest. Cross the Ruisseau de la Chaume. Continue uphill through Bois Plat and Bois Colas, reaching a Y-shaped crossroads.

(4) Keep to the right, cross the D17 carefully and reach another crossroads at a high point.

(5 )Go left, downhill, on a ridge; then leave the woods. Follow the fields until you reach a crossroads leading to the hamlet of Huis Bourdiaux.

(6) Turn left and continue downhill to the crossroads at Le Vernet au Page.

(7) Go downhill, again to the right, to reach a crossroads with several directions.

(8) Continue slightly to the right, past the foot of Grand Mont, out of the woods and into a large clearing at the junction of several paths.

(9) Continue straight ahead, then cross the D122 with care and continue down a fairly steep slope. Reach the road leading to the hamlet of Le Mont. Turn right, go through the hamlet and join the hamlet of Lavault.

(10) Continue downhill to the right, and join the road to the hamlet of Tachely.

(11) Turn left onto the farm track. At Les Porroux, you will come to a new road; there is a glass skip here.

(12) Turn right, then take the^1st track on the right. Then start to climb to reach the village of Vauclaix.

(13) Turn right into the Chemin de Bonpierre, signposted in yellow. At the foot of Montagne Saint-Barthélemy, there is a path junction.

(14) Leave the Yellow markings, turn left and walk around Montagne Saint-Barthélemy. Ignore the start of several footpaths to reach the local road serving Moulin Granard and Les Cloiseaux.

(15) Cross the road and join a new path in a clearing at the edge of the wood.

(16) Continue straight ahead, then keep left at the next crossroads. Continue uphill, then carefully cross the D122 to find, a few metres further on in the clearing, the 4-way crossroads you passed on the outward journey.

(9) Turn left again and, following the same route as the outward journey, return to the Y-shaped crossroads you passed on the outward journey.

(4) Turn right and you will soon reach the Étang des Vernois. Follow it and ford the Ruisseau de l'Étang. Continue to the right along the path cut by forestry machinery until you reach an X-shaped crossroads.

(17) Take the track on the left, then go down to reach the road at Banc de Scie.

(18) Cross the road and continue straight ahead, then turn left through the hamlet of l'Huis Renault. In the clearing, ford the Ruisseau de l'Étang des Vernois. Then return to the original crossroads you passed on the outward journey.

(1) Turn right again, in the opposite direction, to return to the Huis Blin car park (S/E).

There are no refreshments along the way apart from in the hamlets of L'Huis Blin, Le Mont, Tachely and the village of Vauclaix, where you can ask the locals for water if you need it.
