Start from the main car park at the foot of the Brassy church.
(S/E) From the car park, turn right in the direction of Lavault (D210), cross the D6 and continue straight on until you reach l'Huis du Mée.
In this hamlet, turn left onto a track, leaving the left-hand track behind. Continue uphill, ignoring the next 2 paths on the right.
(1) At the end of the clearing, at the Y, take the left-hand path on a contour. At the next T junction, go right and, after approx. 120m, turn left. Continue until you reach a small (but not too small!) tarmac road.
(2) Turn right onto a wide track. The signs indicate Chemin Pèlerin, and the yellow and red GRP® markings become more prominent. In the first part of the climb, turn right onto the path which, as the sign indicates, is forbidden to all vehicles. Let the left and right paths run through the fir grove. Continue along a few low dry-stone walls.
(3) Shortly after the end of this forest, a first window opens up on the left, offering a view of Chaumeçon. At the end of the descent, a path leads to a few houses, then to a crossroads.
(4) Exit onto a road with a picnic table on your right. Turn right. At the crossroads, keep right on the main road. On the left, nestled at the bottom of a densely vegetated area dotted with small ponds, are a number of chalets. Let go of the paths in the undergrowth. Continue along the road through the bends.
(5) Leave the main road to take a tarmac lane on the right, still signposted GRP® and Chemin Pèlerin. The asphalt section ends at a chalet on the left. Continue through the forest on the main path, keeping to the right and left-hand trailheads. The valley floor path is sometimes very wet. Pass a holly border and come to a crossroads of forest tracks.
(6) Turn left. Signs are always present.
(7) At this crossroads, leave the GRP® markings, which continue to the right. The route now bends left around a hillock, then descends to a turnaround platform. At the end of this platform, take the path to continue downhill. Forget the paths that lead to logging areas.
(8) At the road, opposite the lake, turn right. Cross the dam and head for the leisure park.
(9) Leave the road and turn left into the car park. At the foot of the picnic tables, go down between the rails forming a path. Leave this guide on the left to take a path between trees and vegetation (not always obvious, but aim for the lake). Cross a few marshy areas on the footbridges.
The trail follows the reservoir as closely as possible.
(10) The path leads to a road. Turn left and continue along the marked path, always following along the lake. From time to time, you'll come across a few yellow markers labelled 'Sentier du Lac'. Stairs and footbridges make the route easier, which is narrow in places.
(11) Go left, down to the torrent, crossing it by the footbridge (waterfall on the right).
(12) Leave the path on the right and follow the water to the crossroads (D6).
(13) Follow this road to the right for about 200m, and at the farm shed, turn left onto the carriage road.
(14) Turn left, leaving a track on your left. Continue uphill towards the house with the white facade and slate roof. Head for the crossroads.
(15) Leave Le Vivier and turn left onto the road. Drive down this road, passing the Moulin de Tala fish farm. Continue along the road.
Leave the path on the right that leads to the Paintball course and continue along the main road to Brassy. Reach the church car park (S/E).
