Circular route through the Lyons State Forest

Park in the car park at the church in Perriers-sur-Andelle.

(S/E) With your back to the church, turn left onto Rue de l’Église. Cross a wooden bridge over the Andelle and continue along Rue de La Forêt until you reach the junction with Rue de la Hétraie.

(1) Turn right onto this street, continue, passing a sports ground on your right and then a factory.
Pass a bus shelter on your left just before the junction.

(2) At the fork, head left then turn right onto the^first track between plots 688 and 689; this is the Route Forestière (RF) des Châteaux. Follow the track until you reach another RF, the Colmont route.

(3) Follow it to the right; it also forms part of the^{GRP® des}Forêts de Haute-Normandie, marked in red and yellow. Continue to the junction at the De Colmont forest house.

(4) Turn left, leaving the^GRP® which continues straight ahead. Follow this small road, which becomes a path after the farm on the right-hand side. Enter the forest, then at the^first crossroads, head right to a picnic table and a brick building situated at the corner of a road.

(5) Take the path to the left at the signpost: Sentier de La Fontaine Bulant, marked in yellow. Leave this road at^{the first} path on the right. Follow it uphill for a few metres, then turn right again.
Continue along the path, then at the crossroads, head right onto the yellow-marked path that descends.

(6) At the bottom of the descent, stop following the yellow markings and turn left onto the Route Forestière du Chêne Varin. Continue until you approach some buildings.

(7) Turn onto the path that veers left between plots 748 and 749, then join a road. Follow it to the left until you reach the forest at the Maison Forestière de la Villenaise.

(8) Head right at the sign for Route Forestière de la Pierre Fortelle and take this road. Pass through a gate and follow this forest track until you reach plot 711 on the left.

(9) Turn left onto the small winding path and continue until you reach a wider forest track. Cross it to the opposite side.

(10) Follow the forest track to the left, go uphill and cross the road to continue along the track opposite. Continue to the junction of several paths at the end of a bend.

(11) Head straight ahead (do not head towards plots 702/704) then follow the path on the right. Walk to the bottom of a descent.

(12) Turn left, continue for about thirty metres and then turn left onto the Route Forestière Beaunay, which follows the^GRP®. Follow this for a few hundred metres. You will come to a crossroads of paths.

(13) Turn right at a 90° angle and follow the^GRP® to the edge of the woodland, which you should follow to the right. Join the Route Forestière de Colmont at the junction you passed earlier.

(3) Ignore the^GRP® which heads off to the left. Turn right onto the De Colmont forest track. Reach a^first road, cross it and continue along the path opposite. Reach a^second road. Cross this as well.

(14) Go through the forest gate and continue to the crossroads.

(15) Follow the path on the left downhill. Wide at the start, it narrows further on and leads to a clearing. Then turn left onto a dirt track until you reach a road. Take it to the right to reach Rue De La Forêt.

(1) Go straight on, cross the Andelle via the wooden bridge, then turn into the^first street on the right, keeping the church on your left. Pass between the two pillars on the left after the church to enter the grounds of the Manoir De Colmont. Proceed to the church and the starting car park (S/E)

(S/E) After a few metres, a green space and benches by the banks of the Andelle.
