A walk around Cesson-Sévigné

Park in the car parks along Rue du Réage, just after Rue du Douet, by the ponds.

(S/E) Start the walk by following the right-hand side of the pond all the way towards the children’s playground, keeping it on your left.

(1) At the end of the pond, turn right and follow Rue de Bellevue; the footpath runs alongside a cycle path. At the roundabout, carry on straight ahead along Rue de la Mare Pavée. Cross a road (also called Rue de la Mare Pavée) and continue along the same road.

(2) Turn right at a white barrier to take a path leading to the children’s play area. Then turn left to walk alongside a green space which may hold water in wet weather. At the end of this space, turn left and then take the path on the right. Cross Rue du Cormier. Turn right immediately to cross a small grassy square. The path leads onto Rue du Cormier; turn left here. Go straight ahead at the roundabout, then cross Boulevard des Alliés.

(3) Just after the boulevard, take a path on the left. Cross Avenue de la Renaudière. At the next roundabout, cross Rue de Rennes. Continue along the path, which branches off to the right at a new roundabout.

(4) Turn left to go under the road and reach the banks of the Vilaine. Turn left and follow the Vilaine, passing under the Viaduc de Bray.

(5) The path leads back up Rue de Rennes. Turn right to cross at the pedestrian crossing. Turn left into the kayaking centre and walk alongside the white-water stadium. Continue straight on along this path to cross Rue des Vieux Ponts, then turn left to cross a small footbridge, followed by a larger one.

(6) At the end of the large footbridge, behind the cultural centre, turn right to follow the River Vilaine once more until you reach the car park at the Stade de Dézerseul.

(7) Cross this car park and walk along the edge of the pond on the stadium side, first along its length and then across its width. At the end of this, turn right and then immediately left to cross a small clearing. At the end of this, take the path on the left.

(8) At the next Y-junction, take the right-hand branch, then immediately turn left to walk alongside the cemetery. When you reach Rue du Grand Domaine, turn right to cross Rue de la Chalotais and continue straight ahead along a small path. Turn right onto Rue du Placis Vert to find a small path at the far left of the small square.

(9) Cross Rue de la Bretonnière and continue along the path. Go round the first pond on the right. Cross Rue des Pierrins and continue along the path. At the end of the second pond, cross Rue du Roquet and continue along the path.

(10) At the transformer, turn right and cross Rue du Four, then go round the pond on the right until you return to your starting point (S/E).
