For this short route, park in a car park just above the D31, between Vals-près-le-Puy and Saint-Christophe-sur-Dolaison. The Sentier des Chibottes is signposted. Please note that access to the car park from Vals is on the right just after a bend.
(S/E) At the car park, turn left onto the path that climbs up the hillside. The first shepherd's hut, which is quite low, comes into view fairly quickly on the left. This is the Petite Valladière.
Continue along the narrow path as it winds its way up to the Chibotte de Perbet, which offers a lovely view. Cross a scree slope and then head towards Vals to reach the Chibotte d’Odile.
(1) After the picnic area, turn right and, at the hairpin bend, take a sharp right. At the next fork, turn right again and cross another scree slope where you’ll see the ruins of a farmhouse.
At the end of the path, turn left and then left again.
(2) Turn right, then left, towards chibotte no. 5, known as the Crouzas. Finish the walk by turning right and passing close to the winegrowers’ private shepherd's hut to return to the car park (S/E).
