Surfleet circular via Surfleet Seas End

Start: This walk starts at the Riverside Hotel, ideal to return to for a hot meal or snack on a winter's day.

(S/E) Leaving the car park with your back to the pub walk towards A16, turn left and follow the footpath that takes you under the A16. Then, turn right, follow the A16 for a short distance.

(1) Turn left into the Spalding golf club. At this point follow the river on your left and the golf course on your right.

(2) After passing some chalets on your side of the river turn left over the sea lock. Once across the river turn right and then join the lane named Surfleet Bank.

(3) Continue on this lane, ignore turn to the right on Marsh Drove. Keep to the left then reach the T-junction.

(4) Turn right and go to the next junction.

(5) Turn left.

(6) Before the lane approaches the A16, take the turn to the left (South).

(7) After a while, when the lane bends to the left take the turn to the right.

(8) At the "T" junction turn left. After a short distance ignore the road to the left and carry straight on past houses which back onto to the river Glen you saw earlier.

(9) As the road approaches the A16 take the path down to the left, go under the A16 and then return to Riverside Hotel (S/E).

Refreshments : In summer time near the Sea Lock there is the Ship pub, you can stop for a drink, etc.
