Description of the route

Departure from Place de l'Église.

Mountain bike trail no . 25

(S/E) With your back to the monument in front of the church, turn left, then right onto Rue de la Chise. At the crossroads, cross the D947 with caution and take the D4 opposite. Leave the village and follow the small road to the church in Barricourt.

(1) Turn left onto the D4, cross the Remonville National Forest and reach the D112 in Rémonville.

(2) Make a sharp left turn, then take the path on the left opposite Rue de la Hocarde. Reach the woods and continue through the forest.

(3) At the forest road, turn right and you will come to a road.

(4) Turn left, cross the Tuileries, and find a track on the right, a few metres before the town exit sign.

(5) Take the path on the right, Petites Censes, and continue straight ahead until you reach the Ferme des Petites Censes.

(6) Turn right, cross a small stream, then turn left and follow the woods. Cross a cultivated area, then continue into the forest until you reach a crossroads.

(7) Take the track on the left, leave the forest, walk along the meadows on your right, and reach the hamlet of Les Forgettes.

(8) Climb up into the woods on the left. Come out onto fields and continue right on the path at the edge of the woods. At Tailly, continue straight ahead and you will arrive in front of the church.

(9) Then turn left and take Rue de l'Église. At the end, turn right onto the D15, note the wash house on your right, and admire the remarkable ochre-coloured stone houses. Reach the next street on the left.

(10) Take this street and, at the three-way junction a few metres ahead, keep to the right. Continue along this road, climbing uphill, until you reach a crossroads at the top of the slope.

(11) Continue to the right, then quickly to the left, past the large oak tree. After a long descent, you will reach the village of Nouart. At Place du Château, turn right, cross Rue Chanzy, and continue straight ahead on Rue du Cuir Douin. At the end, turn left towards the church, the Monument to General Chanzy and the square (S/E).
