On the Chemin de la Font de Mai, there is a very large car park, but further on there is also a small car park with three spaces.
(S/E) From the large car park, follow the path until you reach the forest gate (GB102). The path is marked in sky blue. Go through the gate, take the wide bend to the left, still marked in sky blue, and follow the track to the Col d’Aubignane.
(1) There is a forest gate on the left. Follow a path marked in yellow opposite, to the north, and you will reach a fork.
(2) Continue left to reach the bottom of the Vallon Passe-Temps. You will cross a path.
(3) Take it to the right and climb slightly. Cross another path a few metres further on, at a small clearing with a beautiful fir tree. Behind the fir tree, take the path on your left which climbs and is marked in yellow. It climbs steeply up to the Pas du Loup. Cross a climbing path and take the path on the left. Ignore a junction and arrive at a second path a few metres further on. Keep to the right. You’ll reach a cirque and continue along the path to the end. At the end, continue to the left.
(4) At the junction (Pas du Loup), take the first right and immediately turn right onto the path that is not blocked by stones and is still marked in yellow. You will arrive in front of the Grotte du Grosibou. Continue and, 100 metres further on, you will reach the Pic du Taoumé.
(5) Keep going straight ahead, following the yellow markings. The path begins to descend after the Pic du Taoumé. You’ll arrive at a large clearing with large boulders.
(6) Walk along the right-hand side of these as you descend to reach a fork in the path, still marked in yellow, which you should leave to continue left between two large stones in the middle of the path until you reach the bat cave. Follow a signpost indicating the direction of the Puits du Mûrier, marked in yellow, to cross a wide path which you should take on the left. After the well, you’ll arrive at a large clearing.
(7) Follow the path climbing to the right, clearly marked in yellow. You will arrive in the middle of a bend near a path.
(8) Take the path on the right, still marked in yellow (beautiful view of the Garlaban). You’ll reach a fork in the path and turn left onto the path, still clearly marked in yellow. You’ll see the Garlaban again and reach a large bend.
(9) Continue straight ahead. The Garlaban is very close. Follow the path down towards the Garlaban to reach a wayside shrine at the Col de Garlaban.
(10) Behind this wayside shrine, follow the path uphill until you reach the Croix du Garlaban.
(11) Head back to the wayside shrine.
(10) Continue along the wide path to the left. Stay on this path until you reach a sign on the road indicating the rock carvings (over a hundred carvings). Walk a few metres to the right towards the carvings, then return to the path and continue along it until you reach the bend. Follow the bend and then cut across the track once.
(12) Continue along the shortcut opposite. Once you’ve rejoined the track, follow it straight ahead. Then leave it to the right to follow a Red Cross signpost, followed by a sky-blue signpost. Take this path which, a few metres further on, offers a view of the Grotte de Manon below. Follow the sky-blue signposts to reach the cave.
(13) Facing the cave, at the far left, follow a path that descends. Take this path. It is marked with sky-blue signs. At the fork, turn left onto a path that is much more pleasant underfoot (dirt track). The path is now marked in yellow and crosses another fork. Keep left, continuing downhill until you reach the junction from the outward journey.
(2) Turn left to return to the car park via the reverse route of the outward journey (S/E).
