Park on Rue des Noyers in Hohengoeft.
(S/E) Walk about 30 metres and climb up a path heading south, keeping to the left.
(1) Continue straight ahead on a stony path (leaving the Chemin de la Chapelle Saint-Wendelin on your left, which you will take on the way back).
(2) At the intersection, follow the red triangle markings opposite. Descend between fields and along the edge of the forest.
(3) Turn left and now follow the blue triangle (the time indicated for the Marlenheim Chapel is greatly overestimated). Follow a path through the forest. Come out onto a track and follow it to the right. Arrive at an asphalt section and turn left towards Goldbuch.
(4) Before the farm, turn right and follow the Blue Triangle up a steep hill, which levels out and leads to the forest and Marlenberg.
(5) About 500 m after the farm, turn left. Soon head south and reach the vineyards above Marlenheim.
(6) Turn left onto a cement path (beautiful views).
(7) At the crossroads, turn left and follow the red ring markings towards Stephansberg. At the multiple crossroads in the middle of the vineyards (altitude 326), go straight ahead. At the three-way junction that follows, turn right. Head north, cross a road and then a perpendicular path. Continue up the fairly steep climb on an asphalt section that levels out until you reach the majestic lime tree that almost eclipses the antenna just behind it.
(8) Continue straight ahead on the path, following the red ring markings (north then north-north-west).
(9) At a sharp left turn, veer right towards the Saint-Wendelin Chapel (white arrow and hiker silhouette). The path soon gives way to a trail that climbs up to Goeftberg.
(10) Descend northwards. Reach the chapel and a fork immediately afterwards.
(11) Then turn left (do not follow the Way of the Cross). Descend to the intersection taken at the start of the hike.
(1) Turn right and return to the Rue des Noyers car park (S/E).
A very beautiful, bucolic walk, slightly hilly, offering stunning panoramic views of the Marmoutier area. Peaceful throughout. The only downside is that I know the Visorando moderators don't like references to the Club Vosgien's signposting, but it's very well done and useful. Here at point 7, you won't get lost if you simply follow the red ring markings that lead you to the TDF transmitter.
