Parking on Rue de Général De Gaulle (D2004) or Rue du Capitaine North near the Arthur Metz wine cellars.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, turn left onto Rue de Général De Gaulle and take the second street on the left, Rue Paul Laugel (to the right of the shop). At the top of the street, turn left to enter the vineyards in the direction of the Anneau Rouge sign. Walk along the tarmac path to the Figuier crossroads.
(1) Turn left onto the dirt track towards the forest. Before the forest, you will come to a viewpoint with some explanations. Follow the path through the forest marked Anneau Rouge until you reach the junction with a tarmac road.
(2) Turn left and take the path on the right that enters the forest.
(3) At the bottom of the climbing site, turn right and climb the rock and metal stairs. Enjoy the viewpoint at the top to take photos of Kronthal and Wasselonne. Return to the Anneau Rouge route in the forest, then head towards Wasselonne to reach the Strasbourg road (D1004).
(4) Cross at the pedestrian crossing and find the path opposite to set off again behind the first row of houses. Walk along the Mossig, pass the Match supermarket, cross the road, go up Rue du Moulin and turn left.
(5) Cross the two branches of the Mossig and continue straight ahead along Rue de la Gare. When you reach the Wasselonne police station, turn left and stay on the tarmac road until you see the farm on your right. Turn right and then left, following the Anneau Rouge route, and cross the fields towards the Wangen forest.
(6) Turn left when you reach the forest.
(7) Look left through the trees and you will see the Lion Rock climbing site where you were an hour ago...
(8) You will arrive at a small wooden hut where you can see Marlenheim and Wangen, and Strasbourg in the distance on a clear day. Set off again through the vineyards to reach Wangen. Go down Rue des Vignerons on the left when you reach the entrance gate to the village centre. Continue to follow the Anneau Rouge. At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto the Molsheim road.
(9) Cross the road and take a small passage between the houses. Continue and turn right under the road, along the Mossig. A little further on the right is the Domaine Xavier Muller, a Marlenheim winegrower.
(10) When you see the fishing pond on your right, take the tunnel on the left. Go up Rue du Capitaine North and return to the starting point (S/E).
