Park in the village of Haux, for example behind the church. The entire hike is markedPR® in yellow
(S/E). Go down the main street, then turn left (towards Montory) before taking the first road on the right that runs alongside a small stream. The road climbs gently to a fork.
(1) Take the road on the right, which gradually turns into a track. The track climbs gradually through the forest before reaching a crossroads.
(2) Continue climbing by taking the path on the left, which climbs gently at first and then more steeply until you reach the Col de Baraltzaga via a steep path on the right.
(3) Continue west on the path (still marked in yellow), which offers a magnificent view of Haute-Soule and the peaks of the Spanish border. Continue on the horizontal path along the mountainside for about 450 m.
(4) Leave the main path and take a small path on the right that climbs towards the ridge (yellow markings). The path climbs quite steeply through ferns, where the yellow markings help you find your way.
The path continues along the mountainside, skirting the rocky ridge on the left. (It is possible to reach the ridge by climbing off the path up the slope, but it is quite steep).
The path then begins to descend through mountain pastures to a fork.
(5) Turn right towards a barn. The trail becomes narrow as it enters the forest. Continue on this trail, ignoring the one that descends to the left into the forest. You will arrive at a track.
(6) Turn right to climb slightly, then continue along this path until you reach the crossroads you passed on the way up.
(2). Return to the village (S/E) by retracing your steps.
