Description of the walk

(S/E) Start Dean Lane Tockholes Rd intersection. Take lane East. Descend Donkey brew cross road into Sunnyhurst wood

(1) Take a higher level path 'Weavers Way' along the north side of the wood.

(2) Take path above visitor centre to exit wood Leave wood and take footpath north across fields to track. Take track south-west towards Carr Hall farm. Take gate on the north of farm onto the golf course

(3) Follow the path south-west across the golf course towards the farm. Take path between farm building to road. Take stile to the road and turn north-west.

(4) Take path south-west between walls to Trash Lane. Take stile down to trash lane and head south. Take Dean Lane west back to start. (D/A)

After Brincall the route follows Goit watercourse before leaving the valley and gradually ascends via Brinscall Hall and Windy Harbour to Snape Heights offering good views over the Ribble Valley, The final section descends back to railtrack offering good open views of Darwen Moor.
