Soum d'Aulis

A short, pleasant walk where you can have a picnic at the summit. Beautiful views of the Anie and the scattered settlements on the borders of Béarn. No difficulty.

A few yellow markers to help you find your way.

Description of the walk

Turn left before the church, drive through Le Vert, and park after the bridge.

(S/E) From the car park, head east, ignore a road on the left and right, and head towards the Pédrou farm.

(1) Ignore the field (private property) and take the path going uphill to the left. You will come to a fork.

(2) Ignore the purple route on the IGN map (the path is overgrown) and climb up to join the road, following it to a pathhead after the Chicorp farm.

(3) Turn left onto the upper path and head towards a crossroads.

(4) Head left, up towards the ridge, to the summit of Soum d'Aulis.

(5) Return to the crossroads.

(4) Continue straight on and join the marked path.

(6) Turn left and follow this path, which makes a long circular loop, down to the Col d'Etche.

(7) Follow the road to the right, passing Estrabou, then Doumecq, and arrive at the car park (S/E).

A lovely hike with views of the anime from the summit – but that’s not all! Pic d’Orhy, Crêtes d’Iparla, etc.
