Description of the walk

The walk starts at the historic bakery in the centre of Sontheim. We walk through the woods across hilly countryside, past the Lindenhütte and down into the Eistal valley. We enjoy a leisurely stroll through the enchanted valley as far as the ‘Großer Fels’ and the ‘Baasennase’.

We turn off into the Tiefental and stay on the path at the bottom of the valley until we climb up to the Sontheimer Höhle on the right. This former river cave was formed millions of years ago and is well worth a visit as a tourist attraction.

Via the Kohlhalde, we make our way down to the Heusteige and back to Sontheim.
